SacMoves was provided this opportunity, ahead of any other organizations and ahead of the formal outreach process specifically because we are a coalition of about 25 organizations.
Support for SacMoves Coalition values and priorities was strongest among board members from City of Sacramento. Several members from lower density suburbs acknowledged that mode choice is critical, but wanted to know how our ideas will work for the more car dependent areas of the county. SacMoves believes that if we shift our investments towards transit, walking and bicycling, those will become more viable over time, and lower density suburbs will have the opportunity to densify with infill for more vibrant economic neighborhoods.
SacMoves will continue to be a coalition voice for policies and performance measures that lead to good projects. We hope for transportation funding that we can support, because effective and equitable transportation is critical to the future of our county, and the cities within, and the region.
